Abstract The Wilbur and Orville Wright Memorial, a North Carolina marble shaft, on Wright Brothers Hill, was dedicated August 19, 1940. It stands on a high ridge between Wright and Patterson Air Force Bases and overlooks the site of Huffman Prairie where the Wrights experimented with their planes of 1904 and 1905 and where many of the early Army flyers were trained.
