Abstract Published also in The Aeronautical Journal , July/Sept. 1916, vol. 20, pp. 107-110. Prompted by the erection of a monument to Louis-Pierre Mouillard at Heliopolis, Egypt, February 25, 1912, under the sponsorship of the so-called Ligue Aerienne. It had been claimed that Mouillard conceived the use of wing warping and its application to lateral control, and that this concept had been communicated to the Wrights by Octave Chanute.
