Summarizes the collection of papers of Wilbur and Orville Wright, both published and unpublished, given to the Library of Congress in May, 1949, by the executors of Orville Wright's estate, and additional materials subsequently donated by other sources, 1949-1973. Includes diaries and notebooks (1900-1919), family correspondence (1881-1924), general correspondence (1899-1948), subject file of materials by others, scrapbooks (1902-1948), articles by the Wright brothers and miscellaneous biographical information, and ancillary papers which consist of the typescript of the Papers of Wilbur and Orville Wright , edited by Marvin W. McFarland, originally published in 1953. |
