For most of the images in the collection, the photographer is unknown. The Wright team attracted a great number of photographers eager to fill newspapers and magazines with pictures of the brand new aeroplane. Although the pilots obliged their many requests, on one occasion a group of photographers ran out in front of Walter Brookins' plane as he was beginning to land. Brookins had no choice but to immediately nose his airplane into the ground to avoid hitting them.
