Ames Research Center is home to the world's largest wind tunnel

This 1945 photo shows the worldĦs largest wind tunnel, located at the NACAĦs Ames Aeronautical Laboratory. As tall as a 10-story building, this towering bank of vanes turns the air smoothly around one of the four corners of the worldĦs largest wind tunnel.
