Fooling the photographers

What can you tell about the materials used to build these aircraft just by looking?

Hint: three of the images below are contemporary photos of a reproduction Model "B". Point your mouse at the images to reveal the modern pictures.

Only the photo on the bottom left reveals a true depiction of the materials of the aircraft. The Wrights painted the exposed wooden components of their machines with aluminum paint to conceal their materials. As photographers, the Wrights knew that black and white images of their "aluminum" aircraft would make it impossible to tell what material was used to build the machine. Also, as the color pictures show, looking at the plane in person, it would be very difficult to tell just by looking that the plane was not made from all metal parts.
