Although the original Model B aircraft were mass-produced at the Wrightfactory, they were not built on an assembly line. Each was hand made. TheWright Experience has followed this practice, only on a smaller scale. Whenthe first machine was commissioned and production began, parts were made forthree complete airplanes. It takes approximately two years to complete each machine. Componentsare assembled individually and then brought together in the finalassembly of the airplane. In all cases, historical plans are consultedas an initial guide, but are cross-referenced against otherdocumentation and new measurements taken from artifacts. |
